Our Vision

“I see Vestal United Methodist Church as a place for all people regardless of age, race, gender, cultural background, or sexual orientation. We welcome all people as part of our church family. We hope that all who pass through our doors can experience the grace and forgiveness of God, and find ways to experience together with us love, hope, and renewal.

In this church family, all people can come to know themselves as a child of God. We seek to offer a place to learn, to grow in faith, and to use your gifts and blessings in service to others in God’s name. This is a safe place for you to be yourself and to be at home.”

— Mike Willis, Senior Pastor

Vestal UMC Clergy & Staff

In his grace, God has given us different gifts for doing certain things well. So if God has given you the ability to prophesy, speak out with as much faith as God has given you. If your gift is serving others, serve them well. If you are a teacher, teach well. If your gift is to encourage others, be encouraging. If it is giving, give generously. If God has given you leadership ability, take the responsibility seriously. And if you have a gift for showing kindness to others, do it gladly. - Romans 12:6-8

Our Affiliation

Each unique individual is welcomed within the United Methodist Church. The UMC is called "united" because our churches across the globe are all connected, giving us the ability to mobilize very quickly for local, national, and global needs. Every church is guaranteed a pastor, so there are no 'open pulpits'. We have an annually appointed-clergy system, mission-based outreach practices, are foundational throughout all levels of education, and have a rich history of working for social justice and equality.
